Funders Invited to Learn the Real Story of Florida

NEO program officers and directors, like many in philanthropy, often get out of the office and venture into the field to see up close how grantees and organizations are making a difference.

It’s on those site visits and funder tours that new insights are gained and previous perceptions challenged.

In April 2019, Sienna Baskin, director of NEO’s Anti-Trafficking Fund, went to Florida for the Neighborhood Funders Group (NFG) tour.  NFG’s Funders for a Just Economy brought together funders from across the country and community organizing leaders in Florida to explore how diverse communities in the state are building power and political infrastructure for workers’ rights, migrant justice, women’s rights, and more.
