Yeleen (she/her) joins NEO with a background in grassroots organizing, philanthropy, and non-profit intermediaries. Prior to NEO, Yeleen’s first worked within an intermediary as a Program Associate of Astraea Lesbian Foundation’s US Fund. Having developed a deeper analysis of social justice philanthropy, she then joined The Praxis Project as their Program Manager of Fiscal Sponsorship & Infrastructure where she coordinated day-to-day operations and development of their fiscal sponsorship program. Yeleen is a fiscal sponsorship advocate, believing it holds a unique position of power and movement building potential in the non-profit system. She believes FS programs not only need robust operational infrastructure, but also strong relationship managers and a culture of care to help build trust and capacity with grassroots organizations and movement leaders. She’s excited to accompany and support NEO’s projects to be able to do their work from a place of intention and abundance. Outside of work, Yeleen enjoys crocheting, cooking, planning Queens food tours, and traveling with her partner and fur baby, Dubu.
