For five years the Just and Fair Schools Fund (JFSF) supported grassroots organizing initiatives that worked to eliminate harsh school discipline policies and practices and that upheld the right to education for all youth.

About JFSF

Based in 15 states JFSF grantee partners worked at the local, state and national levels to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed and dream – especially youth of color, LGBTQ youth, immigrant youth, youth with disabilities, foster youth and others who are systematically denied this chance by extreme school discipline policies.

The JFSF is one of several initiatives NEO Philanthropy has supported over the years that aim to eliminate harsh school discipline policies and practices, school climate reform, and uphold the right to education for all youth, such as the Communities for Public Education Reform Fund and the Elev8 Middle School reform initiative. NEO Philanthropy remains committed to supporting this critically important work through its other collaborative funds and fiscally sponsored projects.
