Melissa Francisco brings more than 10 years of experience in people, human resources and employee rights work.  Her career has focused on empowering employees and teams driven by mission and values.

Prior to joining NEO in 2020, Melissa worked with a K-8 school serving a low-income community in Queens, NY.  During her five years there, she helped to establish the HR & Talent Support department during a period of significant organizational growth and development, focusing on increasing teacher retention and employee fairness, among many other people topics.  Melissa also worked for five years with an employee rights law firm, as a class litigation paralegal on wage and hour and gender discrimination cases.  She started her career as a Program Assistant with the ACLU’s Racial Justice Program. She holds a Bachelors degree in Comparative American Studies from Oberlin College, and enjoys playing billiards when not at work.
