Trained as a theatrical lighting designer, Michelle’s passion for storytelling and strong commitment to social justice led her to a career in digital communications. With more than a decade of experience, she has pursued roles that focus on human rights and the intersections between movements, including those for reproductive health and rights, racial justice, LGBTQ rights, youth engagement, and climate action. At NEO, Michelle helps connect audiences to the important work of our staff and partners by supporting communications strategy, digital storytelling, and internal communications.

Michelle has worked with both corporate and nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and the United Kingdom. Before joining NEO, Michelle was the senior digital and marketing specialist at the International Women’s Health Coalition, where she led digital strategy to shift the narrative on issues like the decriminalization of abortion, comprehensive sexuality education, and health care for all. She previously held positions at Hetrick-Martin Institute, White Light Ltd, and Women in Stage Entertainment. Michelle is also a volunteer founding director for Impact Human, a nonprofit organization that combines photography, interviews, and research to share the human stories of climate change.

She holds a BFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
