Team: Four Freedoms Fund
Overview
NEO Philanthropy is a trusted bridge between funders and movement-building organizations in the U.S. As a 501(c)(3) public charity and philanthropic intermediary with a 40-year track record of providing critical infrastructure to a wide range of progressive social justice movements, NEO Philanthropy delivers tailor-made support and innovative solutions in service of equity and justice.
Since its founding in 2003, Four Freedoms Fund (FFF) has raised over $320 million toward building a robust and powerful infrastructure of organizations to ensure all immigrants, regardless of immigration status, have dignity, power to shape change, and agency to determine the quality of their life, community and future. FFF is a key partner to foundations and organizations in building the power of the immigrant justice movement across states. FFF invests in organizations in more than half of U.S. states, giving us the ability to respond to emerging opportunities and threats, understand trends, and identify and fill strategic gaps across the nation to strengthen and build the power of the immigrant justice movement. Through sustained grantmaking, flexible rapid response resources, ongoing technical assistance to grantees, and funder education and coordination, FFF invests in the long-term growth and ability of the immigrant justice movement to thrive, achieve transformational reforms, and win lasting justice.
With a 20-year track record of success, FFF has established itself as one of the largest immigrant rights funder in the country and as a one-of-a-kind funder table for donors interested in learning, strategizing, and coordinating about immigrant justice. We pool resources and coordinate our grantmaking with our Steering Committee members for greater collective impact. With ongoing investment and support from FFF, immigrant-led organizations have made it possible for millions of immigrants to safely drive, work, go to school, receive care, become involved in their communities and build thriving futures.
Launched by NEO Philanthropy Action Fund in 2019, Four Freedoms Action Fund (FFAF) is the leading funder of immigrant justice 501(c)(4) organizations across the country and is an established leader in providing multi-entity capacity building to strengthen the movement’s ability to build power in compliant and strategic ways. Since its launch, FFAF has accompanied the 501(c)(4) immigrant justice movement as it contends for greater power and representation of immigrants and New Americans in our democracy. By doing so, FFAF aims to support the immigrant justice movement to grow the infrastructure, tools, and political power necessary to build a safer, more welcoming society where the immigrant voice is centered in politics and policy.
